I began watercolour painting on a cruise in June 2023 as something to occupy a sea day. I loved it, something that I had not expected as I had not painted since I was 12.

A friend from a walking group suggested the Life Church Art Group which I joined in October 2023.

Initially my paintings reflected my interests in many years of travel photography, mainly landscapes and wildlife, but I am happy to try different subjects suggested each week. For me a painting needs to bring joy or raise a smile. It may be something quirky or trigger a happy memory. I love hand painting cards as a way to easily share the joy.

I still love to travel, but today my camera is replaced by a paintbrush and my travel diary by a sketchbook!
